Our story began decades ago, inspired by a visit to a Charles Dickens festival in Galveston, Texas. The experience planted a lasting dream: to bring that same sense of wonder, history, and Christmas magic to another community.
Years later, the Clayton area became the perfect place for that dream to grow. The City of Dillard embraced the idea and gave Dickens in Dillard a place to call home.
Created within an incredibly short time and largely self-funded, the first festival came to life because family, friends, volunteers, and local businesses believed in the vision. They gave countless hours, shared their talents, and provided donations and in-kind support.
The positive response made every long day and late night worthwhile. We were proud of what we accomplished, but even more inspired by what it could become—more immersive, more memorable, and even more meaningful to our community.
That shared excitement led to the creation of Gather for Good Georgia Foundation. Our team comes from backgrounds ranging from healthcare and the arts to real estate, government, and community service, but we share one dream: to create unforgettable experiences that bring people together and give back.
Dickens in Dillard is our flagship event, but it is only the beginning.
Our story began with a dream. Now, together, we are building what comes next.
Meet our dedicated team: Eliana Swanson (President), Lynda Ann Price (Secretary), Deborah Fairchild (Treasurer), and our passionate board members—Sally Rich-Kolb, David Mueller, Sheryl Webster, and Cynthia Hurst.
